Spring Fever?

It's the end of March and, at least where I am, the last days of chill and dreariness are upon us. Although it's officially spring, I think I have a case of spring fever! I'm anxious for some breezy days with sunshine! In the mean time, wherever you are, I hope these pictures add a little inspiration and color to your day if you're feeling the end-of-winter-blues like I am.

Flash Back: Wide Leg Jean

Sparking images of the 70s revamped, the wide leg jean is reminiscent of the Brady Bunch, Cher, earthy hippies, and free spirits. Originally, the pant was much more exaggerated than those you find today. The flares were bigger, the waistline even higher. However, I think the fashion world has found a happy medium since the 70s look has come back in a big way. The high waisted, wide leg jean now has a more tailored and tame look that is still fun, but manages to be chic. Turn up some Simon & Garfunkel and happy pant shopping!

Fresh Finds: Daydreem Shoes

I was one happy camper when I found this beautiful pair of shoes on Steve Madden today! They're a cross between the classic mary jane and the trendy oxford. The cutouts in the back and front of the shoe add a flirty touch. They'd make a sweet pair of summer shoes with shorts like these and a shirt like this.

The Dallas Flea

Today I ventured to the south side of Dallas to attend the Dallas Flea Market. Advertised as an upscale market for handmade and vintage goods, there were dozens of vendors inside of a charming building. Parking was free and it was only 5 dollars to get in the door (plus, you received a Vitamin Water as a bonus!). I sipped my drink, browsed through all of the unique vendors, and picked up several pieces of jewelry!

Here were my three favorite vendors:
1. The Silver Importer: They had reasonably priced, high quality jewelry. As the name suggests, the majority of their jewelry was silver (I picked up a pair of silver elephant earrings!).
2. Rewerked: This woman takes old shirts, blankets, and various types of clothing and "reworks" them into eclectic pieces of clothing. Their vests were especially darling!
3. The Paper Nest Co: Their organic cotton onesies would make a charming and unique baby shower gift. Also, I'm just in love with their card collection! Their use of patterned fabric on card stock is fresh and fun.

Let Us Pray: Japan

It has been 10 days since Japan was hit by the greatest tsunami in its history. Measuring a 9 on the Richter scale, there are over 10000 deaths reported and the missing persons search continues. Although this is nothing new from what you've heard on the news, I would encourage everyone to continue to pray for Japan in this hour of need. Do not forget so quickly about the loss and tragedy of the Japanese people. Please pray for Japan.
